Description

It is believed, that it is better to experience something than to read about it. The project provides experience learning to pupils throughout various activities and games supporting their creativity and talent. The project is supposed to be motivating for pupils to use English as a communicative language and understanding its importance in our lives as well as to prepare young people to react to today´s issues and last but not least to use creativity in drama performance. Cross-disciplinary topics from the environmental studies, geography, history, culture and art include those fields of life, which are essential for the development of young people in modern society. Mobilities of students and teachers will take place, meetings and on-line lessons will be organised. Donor project partner, Løkenåsen school from Norway is an equal partner actively involved in planing and organisation of all project activities. The partnership will give a chance for both institutions and their pupils to improve the level of education in various ways and will provide the opportunity to discover their talent in certain skills such as sport or drama activities and diplomacy.

Summary of project results

Playful learning and pupils’ creative potential development were the main goals of the project of Private secondary school in Bratislava and Norwegian Løkenåsen school, Lorenskog. The main objective was to give opportunity to participate on different lessons focused on drama, golf and diplomacy. Playful methods and methods of experiencing were used which are the most effective and sustainable in the process of learning. The students devoted themselves to literary-drama education and preparation of a performance dedicated to the presentation of a national hero presented at a partner school. A total of 5 knowledge contests were held, both on mobility and on-line lessons, and focused on information on excursions as well as on human rights and political systems in Slovakia and Norway. Especially due to mobilities, 13 Slovak students and 14 Norwegian students as well as 7 teachers, got to know the culture, history, political system, the way of teaching and lifestyle of the other partner country. Students gained knowledge in abovementioned subjects and became more confident in presenting their knowledge, ideas and defending it. They improved their PC skills as well as command of English.

Summary of bilateral results

We highly appreciate the donor project partner’s professional contribution. The project has created the opportunity to get to know each other and to establish new friendships and learn about the way of life in Slovakia and Norway as much as possible. Practical training of both students and teachers in has enriched their knowledge, experience and skills. Bilateral partnership was successful. We focused on cooperation in education, we solved common topics. Most of results of the project lie in the heads and hearts of the students and teachers. The project inspired and motivated participants to use English, understand the importance of sport in our lives, and prepared young people to respond to the blatant topics of the present. Cross-cutting themes focused on the environment, geography, history, and art and culture have all encompassed areas of life that are very important for the development of students and their knowledge. This created a space for the realization of students while not only classes, but also filled their leisure time, which they spent meaningfully with unforgettable experiences for the future.
