Today, the lack of available services is forcing victims to remain in their home environment, often resulting in non-reporting of further violence. There is an urgent need to separate the victim from the aggressor and to provide her with temporary accommodation, medical, legal, and psychological counselling. The objective of the project is to develop and improve existing social services at county level in order to ensure specialized intervention that can cover the needs of domestic violence victims. Thus, the project is establishing a recovery centre in Râmnicu Sărat for victims of domestic violence, in order to provide quality services in line with international standards. Moreover, the project will raise awareness of the scope of domestic violence among relevant institutions, organizations as well as the general public. The target group consists of victims of domestic violence - women, children, mothers with children, for whom separation from the aggressor is required, as well as victims which need counselling services, attendance, guidance, legal assistance, monitoring and support in order to overcome their vulnerable situation.
