Description

The statement of the concept of the arts diversity leads to an acknowledgment of the meaning of national identity. Nowadays, we talk about a static concept based on learning and developing an heritage that builds a dynamic type through interaction with others. Romania is hosting people from different parts of the world that have brought their arts traditions and customs, which are specific to those regions as well as, those which belong to various minorities having their own features and cultures. This project acknowledges the importance of joint knowledge as a factor in world’s fight for reducing the number discrimination cases. Thus, a better understanding and cooperation among minorities and between them and the majority population may help to overcome stereotypes and prejudices that hangs over various minorities. The objective of the project is to increase tolerance of the Romanians on minorities in Romania by promoting their cultural and religious values throughout the project. The magazine "Arts in Diversity" should meet the needs of stimulating public information regarding the arts of minorities and also of their cultural expressions. The objective of the project is to increase tolerance of Romanians on minorities in Romania by promoting their cultural and religious values throughout the project. The project goal is to promote multicultural values of minorities living in Romania, by following the interplay between cultures of minorities. The project aims at publishing an arts magazine, monthly in 4 editions that will reach 4000 direct beneficiaries. The beneficiaries of the project will be 38 artists belonging to national minorities, 4000 readers, 19 representatives of associations of minorities, 10 000 visitors to the online platform.

Summary of project results

Currently, in Romania, according to the provisional results of the census in 2011, 12% (1,904,936 people) of those registered in censuses affirmed their belonging to a national minority. Arts, traditions and customs of the national minorities remain unknown for most Romanians due to the poor media coverage. The statement of the concept of arts’ diversity leads to an acknowledgment of the meaning of national identity. Nowadays, we talk about a static concept based on learning and developing a heritage that builds a dynamic type through interaction with others. Multiculturalism, as a legitimate social philosophy is difficult to justify out of a democratic paradigm which implies the acceptance of the individual rights and freedoms. Romania is hosting people from different parts of the world that have brought their arts, traditions and customs, which are specific to those regions as well as This project goal is to promote cultural diversity. Through publishing an arts magazine PP aimed to bring together in a structured, innovative and attractive form artistic creation made by various national minority representatives. The magazine "Arts in Diversity" should meet the needs of stimulating public information regarding the arts of minorities and also of their cultural expressions. The objective was to increase the cultural level of at least 4,000 Romanian regarding national minorities artists. Within the project were published four edition cultural magazine containing interviews with 41 artists belonging to the national minorities in order to promote diversity, arts and culture. This magazine was published in 4500 exemplary and it has reached at least 4500 Romanian people all over the country. In order to promote this cultural magazine PP organised 4 presentation events in different locations and created the website www.diversitate.ospv.ro where has been published the magazine and any other materials or news regarding cultural or national minorities’ events in Romania. Also, it has developed a Facebook for the project. The artists promoted through this cultural magazine became more popular and they had the opportunity to speak about their cultural achievements. The project was the opportunity to show that an individual can make it even if he has to face prejudices and by highlighting his success.
