Polish universities has some of the lowest internationalization rates in the EU and it is necessary to enhance the educational offer of studies in English in order to attract students from abroad. The overall objective- is the development of human capital and an increase in internationalization at Lublin University of Technology (LUT) by extending the educational offer of MSc studies in Civil Engineering in English. The direct objective is a comprehensive preparation of studies in English (3 semesters, 90 ECTS) by elaboration of curricula, plans of studies and teaching materials for 2 specializations: Eco-engineering in Communication Construction and Building and Engineering Construction and increase of teaching staff competences. The foreseen results are: new educational offer of studies in English and Faculty prepared to conducting such studies.
Summary of project results
Polish universities has some of the lowest internationalization rates in the in EU and it is necessary to enhance the educational offer of studies in English in order to attract students from abroad. During the project new specializations have been prepared with regard to changing market needs and law changes considering sustainable development in civil engineering, environmental protection and saving energy demands. The need of such curricula modeling has been confirmed by the panel discussion during the ESTKOM conference summarizing the project. The overall project objective was the development of human capital and increase in internationalization of Lublin University of Technology (LUT) by extending educational offer of M.Sc. studies in Civil Eng. in English. The direct objective of the project was a comprehensive preparation of studies in English (3 semesters, 90 ECTS) by elaboration of curricula, plans of studies and teaching materials for 2 specializations: Ecological Engineering in Transport Infrastructure and Civil Engineering Structures and Ecological Engineering and increase of teaching staff competences. The results and products of the project are: curricula and study schedules for 2 specializations, didactic materials for 47 subjects (4 common fundamental subjects, 7 common major subjects, 10 specialization subjects at CESEE, 10 elective subjects at CESEE, 10 specialization subjects at EETI and 6 elective subjects at EETI), AV equipment of the computer laboratory and new seats (19 computers, 19 monitors, software), didactic aids to the subject Politics of Equal Opportunities in Practice, increment of the Faculty staff competences (language skills, consolidation and actualization of the knowledge in the conducted subjects), promotional materials, 4 papers considering new specializations,28 papers at the ESTKOM conference on the problems regarding esthetics and environment in civil engineering.
