Description

The objective of the project is to organise the international Contemporary Dance and Art Festival Dance in Nature 2014 in Ropaži Municipality, to promote cooperation between Norwegian and Latvian representatives and to ensure international circulation of cultural products. Project will help to create new cultural products in the area of contemporary dance, as well as ensure the high technical quality of the performances and shows. International cooperation and exchange are important ways of further developing the European cultural spaceProject target group are dancers and people of different ages interested in dance, who will be able to learn about themselves, their closest people and the environment through participation in performances, as well as those who will participate in the activities of the project as spectators.The aim of the project is to organise an international Contemporary Dance Art festival Ambiance Dance 2014 in Ropaži region.Project partners are dance support foundation Zvaigžņu AkA form Latvia and Siri&Snelle Produksjoner from Norway.Both partners are Contemporary Dance Art organisations. Planned activities within the project Ambiance Dance 2014:14 master classes for improving the participants’ dance skills and obtaining new contemporary dance skills and related arts;preparing and showing 10 new performances;using dance to reflect Ropaži region’s remarkable places, history and social diversity;discussion about the contemporary dance and particularly ambiance dance’s position in the variety of contemporary culture manifestations and products;showing the dance video, which is not widely available to the public;showing the contemporary dance performances to the festival participants and guests thus making this genre of art more popular, recognisable and available at Latvia’s regions;festival’s closing event.

Summary of project results

The objective of the project was to organise the international Contemporary Dance and Art Festival Dance in Nature 2014 in Ropaži Municipality, to promote cooperation between Norwegian and Latvian representatives and to ensure international circulation of cultural products. Within the Project were created new cultural products in the area of contemporary dance, as well as ensured the high technical quality of the performances and shows.Project target group were dancers and people of different ages interested in dance, who were able to learn about themselves, their closest people and the environment through participation in performances, as well as those who participated in the activities of the project as spectators.Within the project was to organise an international Contemporary Dance Art festival Ambiance Dance 2014 in Ropaži region.Project partners were dance support foundation Zvaigžņu AkA form Latvia and Siri&Snelle Produksjoner from Norway.Both partners were Contemporary Dance Art organisations.Within the Project 14 dance master classes,10 Dance in Nature performances,5 Neighbors cooperation events,2 Cycling excursion in Ropaži Municipality,3 film shows were organized and 5 films were demonstrated during the shows,1 discussion on and around Dance in nature were organized,2 large format dance shows were performed and the Project Closing event were organized. Within the project the Project of contemporary dance performances were accessible to a wide audience of contemporary dance professionals had the opportunity to share experiences and jointly build a dance event. Schoolchildren who participated in the Project were able to learn contemporary dance from Norway choreographers.

Summary of bilateral results

Project partners-dance support foundation Zvaigžņu AkA form Latvia and Siri&Snelle Produksjoner from Norway-prepared and demonstrated 2 performances, 4 master classes and one dance show. As a result the festival became more interesting. The dancers had more opportunity to attend master classes, improve the dancing skills, as well as supplement their knowledge and take inspiration from Latvian and foreign choreographers.Dance professionals had the opportunity to share experiences and jointly build a dance event. Unknown, that in the future will be Dance in Nature festivals in 2015 and 2016.
