Description

According to the Department of the Statistics in the beginning of the year 2015 Elektrėnai municipality had 24164 inhabitants of which 20,6 % were young people (14-29 years old). Biggest problem for youth facing various stress situations is lack of information where the necessary support can be obtained. The projects aims to implement the developed model for provision of youth–friendly health care services in accordance with the needs of the municipality. The model will connect provision of the health care services into one system, improving their collaboration and efficiency of health care services provided to youth by: 1) making analysis on accessibility and quality of YFHCS in Elektrėnai municipality; 2) establishing and equipping YFHCS coordinating center in Elekrėnai municipality Public health bureau, which will carry out YFHCS coordinating, case management, consultation functions; 3) developing bilateral cooperation and building capacity of key YFHCS providers: 1 visit for sharing good practices between Lithuania and Norway; 4) administrating the Youth Health Portal at municipal level; 5) adapting and applying 4 Algorithms (set of rules how to behave in different situations, solving problems) in priority areas of the YFHCS provision at municipal level; 6) presenting YFHCS model implemented in municipality.

Summary of project results

The core of the project is the creation, validation, adaptation and implementation of the complex Model in the Elektrėnai municipality and consultation of other municipalities trying to adopt the Model. Project was included: • implementation of elements of the Model (establishment of the youth–friendly health care services (hereinafter referred to as “YFHCS”) coordinating centre / introduction of and support to the YFHCS coordinating and case management function; administration of Youth Health internet portal at the municipal level; adaptation and application of an Algorithm(s) in the priority area(s) of the YFHCS at the municipal level); • implementation of recommended YFHCS good practice examples in the municipality set out in paragraph 8 of Annex 9 to the Guidelines; • other initiatives complying with the definition and criteria of YFHCS as indicated in paragraph 6.3 of the Guidelines; • events, training, research, surveys and other activities necessary for implementation of the Model in the municipality. During the implementation of the project Elektrėnai municipality was ensured, that: • needs of youth and youth health risk factors as well as other your problems will be taken into consideration; • the Model will connect major part of youth in municipality; • the Model will be implemented in a way to attract youth.

Project partner NGO TERRAM PACIS participated themselves in the project as a vehicle for good practice and adviser.
