Summary of project results

In 2010 the research of teenage lifestyle had been conducted in Lithuania. The results of research uncovered the huge increase of behavioral chronic none-infectious diseases among teenagers, influenced by the factors of a modern lifestyle (unhealthy foods, lack of physical activities, smoking, alcohol abuse, overweight) and also changing their modern lifestyle further. The analysis of data of children’s and teenager’s health disclosed the increasing number of health problems related to overweight and blood pressure, chronic breath deceases, slowing of metabolism. The calculations disclosed that the biggest improvement of human health could be achieved if a non- smoking society could be raised: the mortality of men could be decreased in no less than 75 % and of women – no less than 80 %. Thus, it is assumed that the creation and assurance of the appropriate environment for child’s healthy living, health care and education is the right investment distinguished in the long-lasting positive impact on human health.
