Description

This project intends to establish new public healthcare offices and repair existing healthcare offices in the Jonava and Ukmerge Districts of Lithuania. The project will provide these Districts with all necessary equipment of health care offices. This will create a basis for high quality healthcare services and for disease prevention, as well as the provision of opportunities for kids to learn about a healthy lifestyle, healthy nutrition, risk of residents health, first aid, physical activity, prevention of injuries, prevention of addictions, reproductive health, and hygiene. The project will help to improve health indicators of pre-school and school-age children. The aim is to decrease the number of disease cases in Ukmergė District.

Summary of project results

The aim of the Project “Establishment and improvement of public healthcare offices in Jonava education institutions” was to decrease the number of disease cases in Ukmergė and Jonava Districts. In order to achieve that it was necessary to establish new public healthcare offices and repair existing healthcare offices in Jonava and Ukmerge Districts of Lithuania. During the Project implementation the health care ofifices of these Districts were equiped with all necessary equipment and a basis for high quality healthcare services and disease prevention was created. As well as the provision of opportunities for kids to learn about a healthy lifestyle, healthy nutrition, risk of residents health, first aid, physical activity, prevention of injuries, prevention of addictions, reproductive health, and hygiene. The project helped to improve health indicators of pre-school and school-age children in Ukmergė and Jonava Districts. Children of target group now have better conditions to grow up healthy and have required skills to prevent risk of disease or lower consequences of disease by getting all required services of healthcare and by getting ability to educate required skills.
