Description

The current youth center building currently does not meet state requirements for thermal resistance, has low aesthetic value and the cladding materials are poor quality. Full-fledged youth center activities are not possible due to obsolete equipment, and inadequate conditions for youth activities. Youth center building will be reconstructed, new equipment will be bought, and mobile work with youth will be organized. The partner in the project is the organization Ungdom & Fritid. The project seeks to unite the Lithuanian youth centers for common purpose and cooperation. It will be organized workshops for experience sharing. The projects outputs are one renovated building, one set of equipment, ten partnership events, 50 academic hours of supervisions, 335 academic hours of group activities for youth, and 1200 km/month for mobile work with youth.

Summary of project results

The Project „Strengthening the work quality with youth at risk in Kupiskis“ has provided significant benefits for youth at-risk, they have renovated youth center building, new inventory, DJ equipment and climbing wall. Youth training were organized, which had developed social and job search skills. During the Project 335 academic hours of group sessions were organized, whose goal was to teach young people to know themselves, to communicate, to Express their feelings, to work in group, to achieve changes and manage them. Specialists were teaching young people job search refinements, business development framework. Mobile work has contributed to promoting the participation of young people. While implementing the Project 45 trips were organized in Kupiskis district and throughout Lithuania. Thanks to this activity the youth became more active in providing proposals to deal with social problems, more interested in occupation opportunities in Kupiskis youth center, in their schools and local communities. Inter-institutional relations were created and developed during the project. During the project 10 supervisions were organized, whose purpose was to ensure inter-agency cooperation, to help bring attention of the public and relevant authorities to the problems of youth at-risk and look for solutions of these problems. Project partner in Norway shared their experience of working with youth at-risk. Youth center building was repaired and material base was updated. This contributed to creation of a more cozier, more attractive youth center. New inventory and tools for various youth activities and occupations was purchased: the personal computers sets, computer tables, office chairs, DJ equipment, climbing wall, table tennis and other equipment. After the project implementation, Kupiškis youth center provides more and better services for young people.

Summary of bilateral results

The partnership’s goal was to develop Lithuanian and Foreign Youth Centres network. During the project two partners visits to Lithuania were planned, and the general activities of partner and representatives of youth centers, including two 3-4 day workshops, were organized.
