Description

The target group in this project are people who are in "Strategy for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion in Croatia (2014th-2020th)" listed as vulnerable. Our goal is to reduce the psychological and economic damage suffered by family members affected by addiction, violence, accompanying diseases and misfortunes. The division of material assistance, which will be collected in this project, increases our chances to cover target groups and get the ability to build relationships, enhance capacity for responsible parenthood and increasing the quality of life. The action is implemented with volunteers rehabilitated addicts, and those in the process of re-socialization and their family members. Participation of volunteers-members of target groups, encourages activism in relation to solving their problems, and stimulates the scope of target groups, which are difficult to access from the institutional level. The campaign also promotes programs of our association to recruit new users. Family's involved in the action are developing social solidarity and participation in the social problems of community, which is another value of this action.

Summary of project results

The goal of "Small bank" is to encourage social solidarity in the community through the donation of baby equipment to families in need. Action includes parents of children who are attending kindergartens and schools in the city of Rijeka, but also children themselves (collecting and bringing donations to kindergarten and school), which is in this way brought up in a spirit of solidarity. This includes education and the fight against discrimination, and various forms of xenophobia present in today's society. The target groups are families affected by addiction, violence, enduring imprisonment and families at risk of poverty. The project includes 22 volunteers, of which 59% of the volunteers are members of the target groups. Such coverage volunteer group allowed us to indirectly influence the leap from anti-Semitism in activism among our users. Social participation of local society in this action is expressed through a number of donor-citizens (1350), the number of employees of institutions (68) who participated in fundraising (schools (3) and kindergartens (31).
