Description

The pre-defined project will cover the costs for Staff Recruitment, clothes, footwear, hygiene supplies, medicines and medical consumables, enabling to register and offer care to irregular migrants and asylum seekers. Mobile Units establish and maintain a screening procedure, which makes the determination of the status of irregular migrants/ asylum seekers easier and gives them the possibility to make use of existing structures in Greece targeting specific groups (minors, elderly, victims of trafficking/torture etc.) The purpose of creating Mobile Units is to ensure access to the asylum procedure to all people entering Greece by providing them with specific information about their respective rights. At the same time, medical care and consumables will be provided to them. Consequently the nationals of third countries and especially the most vulnerable group of migrants are expected to benefit. The Donor Programme Partner is the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) which is the Norway's central executive body for immigration and refugees and plays a key role as the competent authority in the field of asylum, migration and reception. During the cooperation with UDI, the First Reception Service is expected to build knowledge and techniques on optimization of the procedure for the management of the mixed migration flows, in terms of speed of screening procedures of the third country nationals provided to the migration flows.
