Description

Women with disabilities (WWD) have fewer opportunities to find employment, with additional obstacles for those residing in rural areas and being older. The objective of the project is to improve the positioning of WWD in the labor market through defining and strengthening their skills and the creation of an employment portal to facilitate the connection between WWD themselves and employers. The project will provide guidance and training, especially on the use of ICT, as well as generating an active digital networking platform that can facilitate the relationship and communication between participants and companies. The project will increase social presence, use of ICT and effective contracts. The partners have extensive experience in training, guidance, analysis capabilities and employment, and we intend to communicate its impact through networks.

Summary of project results

Women with disabilities have low employment rates and high unemployment. The aim of RedEM+ is to improve the position of women with disabilities in the labour market by promoting their professional skills through orientation and training itineraries and creating a Network Activa digital platform for easy interaction with business and promotion of the processes of intermediation. 140 women have participated. 57 of them have found job placements with 46 contracting companies. A total of 74 companies have produced job offers. A network of companies are involved in the web. Women are responsible for their own process, setting targets and designing their itinerary. They proactively participate in the platform, fostering their empowerment. It is a free free-access platform on the Internet and mostly self-manageable, so it will continue producing results in terms of job placement, participation and awareness. Partners access information and methodologies on gender and disability as a valuable resource for their users.
