Description

This project addresses new entrepreneurs and businesswomen from rural environments wishing to consolidate a business activity in the Autonomous communities of Andalucia, Castilla La Mancha and Extremadura. It also intends to create an open network for the exchange of good practices between Norway and Spain around rural women entrepreneurship. The main objective of the project is to promote the business spirit and female independent activity in rural areas. Andanatura has developed the program Nature Busines s Models (NBM) as a tool to improve competitiveness and business sustainability in a rural environment, and it intends to apply the developed business models to new rural entrepreneurs through innovative proposals. A knowledge management system will share the results of the project (especially the Rural Business Guide with a gender perspective). The main beneficiaries are entrepreneurs in rural Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha and Extremadura.

Summary of project results

WBM seeks to promote female entrepreneurship in rural Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha and Extremadura, regions with grat entrepreneurial potential but low female participation in the labor market, as well as the Exchange of knowledge between Spain and Norway. The objectives have been reached, as the project has reached 78 female entrepreneurs and businesswomen beneficiaries, who have attended training and received personalized advice to improve the profitability of their businesses or start the business model of their business ideas. The results include 4 two-day training workshops, 70 innovation plans, a website and the Guide for Entrepreneurship in Rural Areas from a Gender Perspective. The results will be continued in future collaborations between partners, as the congress proposed by SIVA (Norway) to reinforce the common methodology developed in WBM between Spain and Norway.
