Description

International road transport with its intentional border crossing document preparation and verification procedures, long queues and therefore high parking cost for the carriers, time-cost for paper-based documents formulation have much potential to develop towards cost and time – efficiency. Currently there is no effective and convenient solution that would help to manage documents typical in international road transport processes electronically. The project idea is to develop international road transport electronic documentation administrating information and management system MobiCarnet. Solution helps to simplify transit at the international level, to use more effectively Estonian transit corridor and to achieve fully automated documentation management processes for international road transport sector. Main activities in this small grant scheme projects are market research, competition and marketing studies and environmental impact analysis, business strategy, IT solutions specification development and partner search.

Summary of project results

Project was needed to develop an international road transport electronic documentation administrating information and management system MobiCarnet. Solution would help to simplify transit at the international level, use Estonian transit corridor more effectively and to achieve fully automated documentation management processes for international road transport sector. The main objective of this small grant project was to conduct a market research, competition and marketing studies, also environmental impact analysis, business strategy, and IT solutions specification development. Project plan also involved partner search activities. Project promoter has conducted all aforementioned activities and results are reflected in project final report. Hence, the project results are considered fulfilled and sustainable. Project promoter also participated in the open (main) call.The output of the project has been reached as project promoter has fully analysed the project idea and has taken further steps towards product development activities. The project is considered to have completed successfully.
