Description

Today the interrelation between the medical and social sides of psychiatry is fragmented and cooperation is lacking. The objective of the project is to improve the quality of the services provided, the availability of information in the community and the connection between treatment and rehabilitation. The outcome of the project is the creation of a comprehensive program whose several key activities focus on de-institutionalization and a change of attitudes to community services for mentally ill people. The main target group are mentally ill people. The secondary target group are employees of the mentally ill people, experts in psychiatric care and employers of mentally ill people. The donor partner is the Norwegian Association of Vocational Rehabilitation Enterprises. The Partnership aims at transferring and sharing knowledge and skills. The output of the bilateral cooperation will be mutual discussions and recommendations on how best to link treatment with rehabilitation, among other things.

Summary of bilateral results

The partnership in AVRE Oslo was established about 10 years ago when a Green Doors internship was held and when there was provided a lecture by a work therapist about the system of cafés. This is a long-term cooperation. The interest shown and the subsequent realization of joint activities in the area of work rehabilitation contributed to the achievement of the goals. The initiative came from people who participated in a lecture by a Norwegian partner.
