Description

The mobility placement should contribute to reaching 3 aims: - deepen knowledge about Norwegian system of child- and elder-care, its development, main features and effects on well-being of both caregivers and care recipients – through systematic individual literature study and in discussion with colleagues at NOVA; - improve in use of quantitative methods in social policy analysis, with specific focus on well-being of the caregivers and care recipients – through work shadowing of colleague(s) at NOVA; - widen knowledge about gender perspectives in care services with accent on de-familisation, de-domestication but also de-institutionalisation and life quality of individuals involved in informal care provision – through systematic individual literature study. The placement will have a positive effect on comparative research work carried out within the INNCARE project, on drafting own dissertation and overall on strengthening bilateral relationship between NOVA and MU.

Summary of project results

First two weeks of the stay were spend on thorough literature study on child- and elder-care policies in Norway. A significant amount of literature was provided, recommended by my Norwegian colleagues, followed by conceptual discussions. During research stay, time was dedicated to conceptualising the book proposal within the INNCARE project (CZ09). It has been finalised and the tasks on different book chapters were divided.

Summary of bilateral results
