Description

The proposed project is aimed at the exchange of knowledge and experience concerning the tertiary education system, and organization, prioritization and integration of metallurgical and materials education and research in the Czech Republic and Norway, especially at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). These main tasks will be discussed: 1. The standards and teaching methods within the specialized subjects focused at Metal Production, Material Recycling, Materials Design, etc., particularly realization of practical/laboratory activities; 2. The methods of teacher evaluation at NTNU and VSB-TUO; 3. Implementation of modern approaches and findings of science and research into education, creation of a research and education environment, development of education and research programmes, etc. For presentation of the teaching methodologies used at VSB-TUO, the lectures on the “Fundamentals of Powder Metallurgy” will be realized by applicant at NTNU.

Summary of project results

This project aimed at the exchange of knowledge and experience concerning the tertiary education system, and organization, prioritization and integration of metallurgical and materials education and research at NTNU. The project realization was based on the discussion and communication with the students and academic/research staff and on the searching of information in the intranet system of NTNU. The beneficiary visited the laboratories of Electrochemistry and laboratories of Metal production and recycling of DMSE and participated in the specialized workshop and symposium organized at NTNU. The lecture on „Preparation of Nd-Fe-B magnets in using TbH2 and study of their structure and magnetic properties“ was presented by beneficiary. The beneficiary discussed the student and staff mobility within various exchange programs with Office of International Relations of NTNU. It was proposed to sign the Memorandum of Understanding between the FNST of NTNU and FMME of VSB-TUO.
