Description

Marketing of Galleries and Trade of Artworks in Czech Republic and Iceland is focused on the educational methods of art management and cultural administration. The aim of the project is to show the similarities and differences between the Czech and Icelandic creative industry and teaching methods of marketing strategies of the fine arts. The mobility and research project between Art and Design Institut and Bifröst University proposes to organize guest lectures at the partner institution by our academic staff and specialists in art management and cultural administration Ph.D. Radka Johnova and Ph.D. Njördur Sigurjónsson. The mobility topic is concentrated on the methods and ways how schools fulfill their roles to prepare the students for career start in the art and culture branches in both countries. We propose to create a web page dedicated to this topic, which could provide a background for establishing further cooperation and research activities

Summary of project results

The mobility project Marketing of Galleries and Trade of Artworks in the Czech Republic and Iceland between Art and Design Institute and Bifröst University was based on the motivation to provide a high standard training and innovative education methods for our students and promote international cooperation for our academic staff. The main outcomes of the project were to show the similarities and differences between the Czech and Icelandic creative industry and teaching methods of marketing strategies of the fine arts. Through mutual guest lectures at the partner institution by the academic staff and specialists in art management and cultural administration Ing. Radka Johnova Ph.D. and Doc. Njördur Sigurjónsson Ph.D and through interviews with the management of cultural institutions and art galleries in both countries we created the content for the web page dedicated to the project topic. The mobility project between Art and Design Institute and Bifröst University enabled the weekly exchange of our academic staff and specialists in art management and cultural administration Ing. Radka Johnova Ph.D. and Ing. Njördur Sigurjónsson Ph.D. The mobility project made it possible to gain experience and new perspectives to both parties, both teachers and students. In both countries, the guest lectures were accompanied and followed by a lively debate among pedagogues and students. Through video lectures made from the guest lectures and through interviews with the management of cultural institutions and art galleries in both countries we created the content for the web page dedicated to the project topic.

Summary of bilateral results

The video lectures made from the guest lectures by Ing. Radka Johnova Ph.D. and Doc. Njördur Sigurjónsson Ph.D. and the interviews with the management of cultural institutions and art galleries in both countries created the content for the web page dedicated to the project topic which is directly accessible. The web page provides a suitable background for future cooperation activities for the students and academic staff, as well as the art world in general. The mobility project helped to reach a promotion of beneficial projects for multicultural dialogues in the field of arts management and cultural administration in the Czech Republic and Iceland. Along with the development of new and innovative forms of educational methods and the improvement of professional skills of the academic staff. The second important priority of the mobility project was to provide a high standard and progressive training for our students and their art and cultural activities in the future. Mutual guest lectures at the partner institution by the specialists in art management and cultural administration Ing. Radka Johnova Ph.D. and Doc. Njördur Sigurjónsson Ph.D as well as the interviews with the management of cultural institutions and art galleries in both countries helped to increase the professional skills of the academic staff and provided the source for the video lectures on the web page, which represent the background for the mobility project objectives. The beneficiaries proposed the mobility project between Art and Design Institute and Bifröst University. The project coordinator for the Czech part and the project coordinator for the Iceland part of the mobility project were responsible for the proper implementation of the project, for the organisation of the mobility activities as well as the publication and evaluation procedure.
