Description

The planned mobility is focused on increasing the capacity of applicant as well as sharing best practices in the areas of Participatory Geoinformatics (PGIS). Applicant and the host institution are in contact since March 2014 and were intensively involved in planning the visit. Both applicant as well as hosting institute are active in fields of Geography and GIS. They would like to explore the possibilities of participatory approaches in GIS and its use for local activities/development. Thus the visit should include the trial PGIS project with some master student(s) interested in this topic. Besides the trial PGIS applicant would like to learn from his hosts about their experience with GIS and local development. The future outcomes can include ERASMUS+ cooperation or common research papers. As there is only few people in the Czech Republic working in the field of Participatory GIS there is an urgent need for increasing local (Czech) capacity and strengthening international cooperation.
