Description
The aim of this project is to obtain and evaluate Icelandic knowledge and approaches in the field of sustainable development of natural resources. Due to the fact that the author of the project deals with waste management in his research and teaching activities, the stay will be focused in particular on the waste management issue. The stay will last only 10 days (including arrival and departure), and therefore implementation of excursions to various research institutions (e.g. Agricultural University of Iceland http://www.lbhi.is/en/english) and business companies (e.g. waste management firm SORPA http://www.sorpa.is/en/about) is the most effective way of gaining practical knowledge. Excursions will be supplemented by discussions and exchanges of experiences and approaches. Activities will be covered by the Institute for Sustainability Studies, University of Iceland. Common topics will be searched for mutual research cooperation in future.
