Description

This project builds on the past cooperation between Metropolitan University Prague (MUP) and Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet Trondheim (NTNU) in 2008, which was financed by EEA/Norway grants as well. The universities have organised a Czech-Norwegian conference on supporting the special needs of handicapped students. The main topic of the project is focused on sharing the experience of handicapped graduates´ transition to the labour market and the present condition in this area. Both universities have a rich experience in this field. At the beginning of project, the team of specialist from both universities will be set up as a implementation team of the project which will closely determine the topic of the project. During following activity, NTNU will organize a topical workshop. The main part of the project will be an international conference held in Prague (UNIs, Ministries, etc.). During the final activity, a comprehensive publication will be published on the project´s conclusions.

Summary of project results

Both institutions included in the project are focused on the integration of disabled people into the major society. MUP (the applicant) offers special educational program called "The school without barriers" which enables physically handicapped students free of charge to attend MUP in all university campuses. In conjunction with the project, MUP cooperates with many subjects which employ handicapped graduates. MUP is also suitable employer of handicapped graduates and has a lot of experience. Because of facts stated above, MUP would like to share its experience and gain plentiful experience of project partners. There is no obstruction for starting the 12-months-long project useful not just for participants but also for general public. Thanks to the past project financed from the EEA/Norway grants we know, how great effect for development has conference with professionals from other institutions and countries. The project counts with decreasing social and economic disparities, mainly in the Czech Republic and Norway, but also in other countries, thanks to electronically treated outputs of project. Implementation of this project will assure new pulse for dialogue between the applicant and Norwegian partner and brings new piece of knowledge for both sides. This is how will be strengthen bilateral relations between Norway as donor country and the Czech Republic.

Summary of bilateral results

The main overall objective of the project is to create functional networks with the project partners. The project is strongly focused on programme and call priorities. The emphasis is aimed to decrease social and economic disparities by strengthening the role of handicapped people in civil society. From this statement also comes up the idea of support human resources by employing handicapped graduates ourselves and helping them with entering labour market (to another employer).
