Description

The project is focused on Czech-Norway institutional cooperation in the field of lifelong learning, the creation of innovations in education and the realization of a joint research survey of alumni of managerial education or specific managerial courses. This is focused on transferring knowledge gained into practice and the view on the effectiveness of various teaching methods in managerial education. In the field of lifelong learning the Czech and Norwegian partners will share best practice and teaching materials, mainly focused on the development of managerial and leadership skills of the participants of the lifelong learning programs at both universities. As an innovation the partners will create a joint syllabus and learning materials for a new Scientific Writing Skills Course (for the participants of the lifelong learning programs), which is now missing at the both universities.

Summary of project results

The project is in compliance with the basic priorities of the Call, mainly in building international relations between the countries involved, empowering skills of academic staff and sharing of educational innovations and research. The project has very good expectations of sustainability due to: a) both partners' experience in lifelong learning (LLP) and managerial education programmes b) interest of both institutions in continuous increase in quality of such programmes c) both partners taking part in realization of main and secondary goals d) possibility of implementing research results directly into lectures d) realization of joint research survey, so that both sides will be motivated for further research cooperation (i. e. in preparation of joint publication output based on gained empirical data) e) members of both research teams having experience in mutual cooperation - the universities have bilateral agreement for teaching mobility via Erasmus Programme. The mobility was carried out in past by members of the applicants' team by realization of a seminar for academic staff (discussion of experience with active pedagogical methods and lectures in MBA programme). Those visits put forward topics and plans for future cooperation.

Summary of bilateral results

The main goal of the project is sharing and creating of new learning materials for managerial and lifelong learning (LLP) courses run at both partner institutions. Particularly: 1) Sharing of best practice in teaching approaches and techniques from Czech and Norwegian perspective in MBA courses and other lifelong learning (LLP) courses (especially focused on leadership and managerial skills), including examples of specific methods used in these courses. 2) Creating the syllabus of the Scientific Writing Skills Course for MBA students ans students of lother ifelong learning (LLP) courses and creating learning materials for this course (in form of ppt presentations or prepared written materials for on-line course). Goals’s reasoning: Goal 1) There are LLP courses on both institutions, focused on development of managerial competences. Especially in MBA programmes which participants are managers from different organizational levels it is necessary to use practical based interactive teaching methods embodied in newest theoretical concepts. Another demand on teaching methods and materials is keeping of principles of modern pedagogy and andragogy (pedagogical constructivism and experimantal learning). Sharing of best practice and crating of innovative teaching methods will contribute to development of human resource management by developing managers’ (participants of LLP courses) leadership skills and thus developing of their followers’ potential and by strenghtening competences of academics involved in this project. Goal 2) The experience with LLP courses of both partner institutions prove that people in MBA and other LLP courses often lack competences needed for writing essays, term and final papers. Thus a need for creating a syllabus of the Scientific Writing Skills Course for these students and learning materials for this course was identified. The project presumes and strengthen direct bilateral cooperation between the Czech Republic and Norway as a donor state in all its goals. Both partners will be involved in goal fulfilling activities. The organizational results depend as well on competences of people who manage them. One of the target group is managers and administrators. The outputs of the project can thus positively influence the quality of management and through this the organizational efficiency which can later contribute to lowering of economic and social disparities within the EEA.
