The conference will present two projects implemented through the programme: 'Increasing the Application of Alternatives to Imprisonment (incl. Possible Pilot Project on Electronic Surveillance)' and 'The New Unit at the Olaine Prison incl. Construction and Staff Training'.In the last four years, new solutions have been introduced to the Latvian criminal penalty execution system, such as electronic monitoring, a youth collaboration model and examination and improvement of already-existing work tools. Most emphasis has been placed on training staff and strengthening the overall capacity of the prison system. The practice of holding joint training sessions for probation and penitentiary institution professionals, as well as organizing joint conferences on current topics for professionals from Latvia, Norway and other European countries, has strengthened reciprocal cooperation and exchange of experience.Download the agendaDownload the conference brochureRead more about the 'Correctional Services' programme in LatviaRead more about the EEA and Norway Grants to Latvia
