Description
The purpose of this Project is to carry out a successful pilot project for energy savings and renewable energy in the primary school and kindergarten of Hernad, with the overall objective of creating a model of energy efficiency excellence for other public schools and institutions throughout the region and the country. Reference is made to the application dated 7 November 2007 and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The project shall include the following activities and results: - re-insulation of the building facades and roofs for proper heat savings and ventilation; - installation of new windows and doors - also for heat saving and energy efficiency measures; - installation of renewable energy system for the heating and warm water supply to the buildings; - installation of solar panels and a pumping system; - project management and publicity The Project Promoter is the Local Authority of Hernad. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 15 percent of the total estimated eligible Project costs.
