Description

In Viziru Commune, a high number of children and youth are at risk of social exclusion. Most of them are members of the Roma community. Lack of jobs and financial possibilities as well as the inadequate living conditions are factors that make life very hard for 977 Roma people from Viziru Commune. The project intends to improve the access of children and youth at risk to formal and non-formal education, health, and information through establishment of a Community Education Centre. We expect to ensure and provide access to education (including through training, and extra-curricular activities), primary health care, food, to 75 Roma children and 20 youths and their families. In addition, implementing activities to improve school readiness and school attendance, reducing dropout risk, rising the understanding of parents regarding their children's educational needs and increasing training of staff (10 experts) working with or providing services for Roma children and youngsters are envisaged.
