Description

The project aims to strengthen the capacity of the Grail to coordinate the National Network of the Bank of Time (BdT), providing the coordinating team and local teams with skills and tools which will contribute to accomplish the mission and potential of BDT - a system of exchanges of services between people, where time is exchanged by time, every hour has equal value and everyone has to give and receive time. The project will be developed in partnership between the Grail and CESIS and views the following components: - creation of a portal with relevant content reflecting the diversity of regional dynamics; -development of a digital platform to manage information enabling systematic recording of data of members and exchanges of time; - design and implementation of new tools and evaluation methodologies; -elaboration of a publication with successful good practices; training activities directed to BdT team facilitators in the areas of communication, ICT and leadership.

Summary of project results

The promoter coordinates a nationwide “Time Bank”, on which citizens of a given community exchange services amongst themselves, each providing and being granted set amounts of time to perform various tasks. The project improved the effectiveness of the Time Bank and the promoter’s ability to coordinate it. A website was created and disseminated on the social networks, which made the Time Bank and the promoter better known and made available online information on its activities to the general public. An information management system was also created and implemented in part of the national network, and coupled with it, systematic procedures on information management were adopted. Evaluation procedures were improved as well. Training sessions on communication and leadership were held, with a total of 108 trainees involved. Finally, a book was prepared from a compilation of best practices, gathered from all over the national Time Bank network.
