The comprehensive program for reducing the incidence of diseases related to lifestyle in a county Wieruszowski

Description

For the county population, special importance of cardiovascular disease has been detected, especially vascular diseases of the brain and heart diseases. This conclusion is confirmed by statistical data on morbidity and mortality. The aim is to improve public health and reduce social inequalities in health, and reduce the incidence of diseases related to lifestyle. The project is aimed at people directly threatened by the incidence of cardiovascular disease and the general population of the county in health promotion and healthy lifestyle. The project contributes to the improvement of mortality in the field of cardiovascular disease, since it focuses on the prevention of diseases with the greatest impact on the mortality indicators. Significant part of the population will be subjected to health screening or take part in health promotion programs. 10000 people will be involved in actions promoting a healthy life style. 8000 people will be involved in disease prophylactic programs. 2500 people will have prophylactic medical examinations. 1500 people participating in promotion of health connected to cardiovascular disease.

Summary of project results

This project was implemented between 24 February 2015 and 30 April 30 2017. Within the framework of the project the following four activities were implemented: 1) Management 2) Information and promotion 3) Preventive examinations in cardiovascular diseases 4) Promote health in cardiovascular diseases The following research was conducted on the detection of cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases addressed to the age group of 45-70 years, which were carried out by the Powiatowe Centrum Medyczne Sp. z o.o. in Wieruszów on the basis of an agreement with Wieruszów County: - A set of laboratory tests (lipidogram, glucose, TSH, uric acid, creatinine) - 2 561 examinations, - Internal consultation - 2 065 consultations - ECG resting with description - 1 200 examinations - Exercise test - 16 examinations - Ultrasound (heart echo) - 250 examinations - Carotid artery ultrasound - 400 examinations - Cardiac consultation - 286 consultations - The transport of people to the research, which due to their state of health or lack of financial or technical resources (eg car), were unable to make their own transport to the hospital in Wieruszów - 52 transports. In addition, the following studies were conducted to detect heart disease in people aged 7-20 years: - A set of laboratory tests (lipidogram, glucose, TSH) - 939 examinations, - Pediatric consultation -1 085 consultations, - ECG resting with description - 300 examinations, - Ultrasound (heart echo) - 50 examinations, - Cardiological consultation - 54 consultations. In addition a number of educational, information and promotional initiatives were carried out in Wieruszów County, including: - 2 conferences on the project, 11 health picnics and 10 medical centers, - 10 school workshops on healthy eating and workshops for educators on cardiovascular disease prevention and risk factors were carried out, as well as 144 hours of good first aid workshop; - A promotional video about a healthy lifestyle was made, - 383 hours of different types of sports were conducted directed to the inhabitants of the county of Wieruszów, - Purchased 3 182 items of various types of health and safety equipment (eg bicycles, bicycle helmets, bicycle racks, jumpers, trampolines, dumbbells, pedometers, team games balls, ping pong table with palettes and balls) for residents, public institutions and parts of schools living and located in Wieruszów County.
