Description

The project "We have to sow..." - a program for mental health promotion and prevention of mental disorders - answers to the problems and challenges related to mental health and mental disorders in the poviat of Pultusk. The objectives of the project are to prevent or reduce the prevalence of lifestyle related diseases, and to protect and restore mental health among children and adolescents. The project is expected to lead to increased awareness about mental health among inhabitants of the district Pułtusk. The number of people participating in the health promotion program will be 6000. The project will also lead to increased knowledge and skills needed for the proper psychosocial development of children and young people. This part of the project will involve 1220 children, 116 parents and 60 teachers. The project will result in the implementation of a health promotion program and the implementation of a disease prevention program among local communities. The target groups are children and young people, parents and teachers. The promotion campaign is expected to benefit all the inhabitants of the District of Pultusk.

Summary of project results

"We have to sow ... .." the prevention and promotion of mental health in children and adolescents in the district of Pułtusk was implemented by Pułtusk District since May 2015 till April 2016. The project was implemented without partnership. The Applicant benefited from the support of the Fund for Bilateral Cooperation Programme PL13 Reducing social inequalities in health. The project was financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 and the state budget. The main objective of the project was to protect and strengthen the mental health of children and youth in the district Pułtusk. The activities carried out within the project: 1. Project management 2. Information and promotion: leaflets, banner, roll-ups, pens, pencils, thermal mugs, anti-stress balls, calendars, three conferences and 10 advertisements in local newspapers. 3. Trainings and workshops on prevention of mental health for teachers and educators, parents and students. In addition, integration trips, youth camps and preventive trips including therapeutic program. Consultations with children and adolescents psychiatrist and psychological counseling in schools. 4. Action for Health in the form of a social campaign on mental health in the form of billboards, leaflets, posters, seminars and artistic competitions for pupils and two picnics. Research on the prevention of mental health was conducted through a survey among high school students. Activities implemented under the project were consistent with the work plans of schools and kindergartens. Aim of a project was implemented. We have obtained the following indexes: 1. The number of people participating in health promotion programs, including in health promotion actions.(target value - 6000 people, achieved value – 9123 people) 2. The number of people participating in disease prevention programs, with people tested.(target value - 1300 people, achieved value– 1920 people) 3. The number of people participating in open seminars.(target value - 100 people, achieved value – 115 people) 4. The number of educators and teachers participating in the workshops.(target value - 120 people, achieved value – 135 people) 5. The number of people participating in various forms of psychological and psychiatrist care.(target value - 1300 people, achieved value– 3501 people)
