Description

Development of this ‘net supporting research and knowledge transfer’ project involves cooperation with Polish as well as preliminary cooperation with foreign partners. The aim is to build a platform supporting research cooperation with Norwegian universities by: elaboration of a model of international research project management, defining common research fields and the principles of research cooperation after the project is finished, and to set up the international research network. Beneficiary groups will be scientific employees interested in conducting research in research teams. Special attention will be paid to doctorate students and entrepreneurs interested in cooperation with universities. The partners will be prepared for launching at the universities Research Supporting Office and initiating research tasks in the future. Partners will conduct surveys, take part in study visits, and function as team members responsible for elaboration of the planned documents within the project.

Summary of project results

The project was needed to strengthen the possibility of cooperation between Polish and foreign scientific institutions. It enabled an exchange of information and knowledge relating to project management, best practices in research project management and the best practices for system project support at universities. As a result the project management model of the office was elaborated in addition to identifying key fields of scientific collaboration. Together, this forms the starting point for scientific collaboration. The aim of this project was to build a Polish-Norwegian platform for research cooperation through several measures: elaboration of a model of research project management and knowledge transfer for Polish Universities, defining common research areas/fields for the future, the approval of the principles of research cooperation including the settlement of international research network. The delivered results are the following: 1) elaboration of "Best practices" for project management. Each Polish university described the practices of project management. This document was reviewed by the Norwegian partner; 2) elaboration of the Model of Research Support Office by the Association Education for Entrepreneurship on the basis of the study visits in Poland and Norway, presentation and consultations of this model with project partners, including Norwegian university; 3) defining 2-4 common key research fields, within which future research collaboration will be withdrawn. All partner universities were involved, the work was coordinated by National Contact Point; 4) document describing the principles of collaboration after the project is finished and the Letter of Intent - elaborated by the coordinator, consulted with the other universities and signed by all project partners; 5) database of Entrepreneurs and Database of Researchers elaborated by the Association Education for Entrepreneurship, promoted by all Polish Universities. In total 26 international mobilities were organized: 13 administrative staff PL-NO; 13 mobilities from Norway to Poland (2 students, 4 experts, 7 researchers).

Summary of bilateral results

The impact is shown as the will of universities to support research collaboration and the understanding of such collaboration and the need for research and researchers support. The awareness of the need for scientific collaboration and participation in scientific network has risen. Moreover, the possibility of such collaboration has been developed. To avoid the lack of actions after the project is finished, the database for researchers and companies remains active. The beneficiaries were involved in all project tasks. The main benefit to the Polish partner was the chance to collect information, learn about best practices, exchange knowledge, to collaborate with foreign project partner, and gain insight into which examples helped to compare the system of research support in Poland and in Norway. The project partner from Norway increased the number of universities for collaboration projects and got the chance to share its knowledge about supporting researchers and research projects.
