Description

The project “Luminous Bodies 2014-15” is part of the Unsound Festival 2014, created in collaboration with Insomnia Festival in Tromso and IMX/Iceland Airwaves. The project’s objectives are: - presenting artistic programs at Unsound, Insomnia and Iceland Airwaves – festivals showcasing diverse projects, associated mainly with sound but also other practices - fostering commissioned works - counteracting the exclusion of Polish minorities in Norway and Iceland, - providing musical education and reinforcing cultural awareness - connecting emerging and established artists – promoting music from partner countries - initiating creative cultural exchange in the music industry Events in Kraków, Tromso and Reykjavik will be programmed in cooperation between partners. The project will include curatorial meetings, preparation and presentation of projects, panel discussions and workshops, audiovisual installations, adaptation of venues of historical/cultural significance for performances, publication of a brochure and a CD audio compilation.

Summary of project results

Summary of bilateral results

This collaborative project connected three organizations and their festivals: Unsound in Kraków, Insomnia in Tromso and Iceland Airwaves in Reykjavik. Each partner has experience in creating programs focusing on music and sound, also connecting to other artistic practices. As project leader, Unsound/Tone Foundation organized its core, and also foster bilateral collaboration between partner countries resulting in co-creation of artistic content presented at events. New commissions and ideas were also developed outside the project frame and continued by all partners.
