Summary of project results

The project addressed domestic violence and the need to provide adequate legal aid to the victims. It was prepared in such way so as to meet the requirements of victims of domestic violence who asked for legal, psychological and social support. It was also necessary to train the persons involved in administering the law on protection against domestic violence. The project activities helped provide support to domestic violence victims in Plovdiv District and train more than 100 specialists (representatives of the court, police, prosecutor’s office, social services, psychologists and NGOs) and 50 students applying the norms related to this phenomenon to ensure a sustainable future change of the attitudes of the persons involved with domestic violence. The most important project results involve the large number of domestic violence victims who were provided with timely and adequate, good psychological and legal support. The implemented project helped the organization’s team acquire additional knowledge and skills to work in the area of gender-based violence exchanging experience with its partner organization and applying the European and internationals protection standards in this area.
