Description

The project includes the construction of denitrification nodes for boilers K-1 and K-2 and the construction of a flue gas desulphurization system. The aim of the project is to limit the amount of pollutants emitted into the air from combustion installations by way of a technical and technological adaptation of a power plant facility (ECII) to fulfil emission standards as laid down in the Regulation of the Minister of the Environment on installation emission standards and the Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council 2010/75/EU on industrial emissions. A crucial objective of the project is also to use a process of reduction of sulphur dioxide contained in the flue gas to increase production of ammonium sulphate. Current emissions of EC II are within the acceptable limits currently in force and amount to the following: SO2 1200 – 1500 mg/Nm3, NOx 500 – 600 mg/Nm3, Dust 50 – 100 mg/ Nm3. The project will reduce the amount of pollutants released into the environment and improve the air quality through the reduction of emissions from fuel combustion installations. As a result, the emission levels will be as follows: SO2 200 mg/Nm3, NOx 200 mg/Nm3, Dust 20 mg/ Nm3.

Summary of project results

The project included construction of denitrification nodes for K-1 and K-2 boilers and construction of a flue gas desulfurization installation. The aim of the project was to reduce the amount of pollutants emitted to the air from combustion plants by means of technical and technological adaptation of the power plant facility (ECII) in order to meet the emission standards specified in the ordinance of the Minister of Environment on emission standards for installations and European Parliament and Council Directive 2010/75 / EU in on industrial emissions. An important objective of the project was also the use of the process of sulfur dioxide reduction contained in the flue gases in order to increase the production of ammonium sulphate. The results of the initial riots indicate that there is a high probability of achieving the planned reduction of emissions planned as a result of the project.
