Description

The project was created as the answer for several problems in Provincial Hospital: poor energy efficient of the building of Provincial Hospital in Bielsko-Biala and inefficient lightings. There is need to reduce the amount of consumed electricity and thermal energy, which generate high fixed costs through the Hospital. Increasing the energy efficiency of Hospital’s building will bring financial profits, but also the improvement of the environmental was important need and key aspect of this projects. The main objective of this project is increasing the energy efficiency of building Provincial Hospital in Bielsko-Biala by partially thermo-modernization and use renewable energy sources. Implement new, environmental friendly solutions: photovoltaic lightings and thermo-modernization of flat roof allow to saving the final energy by 18,91% and reduce CO2 emissions by 28%. The results of the projects, expected to achieve: 8715 m2 insulated the flat roof at Provincial Hospital in Bielsko-Biala, 1050 pieces of sealed windows (area 4926m2) by 30240 mb seals, 1481 photovoltaic panels (renewable energy sources) with a capacity of 399,87kW, jointly the capacity will be 0,4MW, 3434 modernized lighting fitting with LED light sources in the building of the Provincial Hospital in Bielsko-Biala. Realization of the Project (by partially thermo-modernization and use renewable energy sources) will help to: Reducing air pollution resulting from the reduction of energy losses, Increase the thermal comfort of users, Reduce maintenance costs of building, a decrease a gas emissions, which influence on the greenhouse effect, gain the capacity to generate power from renewable sources. The main beneficiaries of the Project are: patients of Provincial Hospital in Bielsko-Biala the guest visited the patients (family, friends), the employee of Provincial Hospital in Bielsko-Biała (doctors, nurses, the administrative staff). Projects material scope has been extended.

Summary of project results

Provincial Hospital faced with low energy efficiency of the building and ineffective lighting. Amount of consumed energy suposed to be reduced. Increasing the energy efficiency of Hospital’s building should bring financial savings, but also the improvement of the environment. For these reasons Beneficiary decided to conduct investition. Thermomodernisational works covered hospital's building. Within the project over 8.7 thousand of m2 of partition were insulated, 1050 windows were replaced and 1481 photovoltaic panels installed (total power 400 kW). Interior lighting was exchanged for ecological one (4629 lighting points replaced). Investment allowed to reduce CO2 emission (3590 Mg/year). Projects implementation helped to: lower air pollution - as a result of reduction of energy losses; increase the thermal comfort of users, reduce maintenance costs of building, gain the capacity to generate power from renewable sources. Projects material scope has been extended, additional works have been co-financed within EEA FM
