Description

The project aim is to protect the environment by reducing emissions and pollution stemming from the combustion of conventional fuels by increasing the energy efficiency in public buildings. The direct objectives of the project are a reduction of environmental pollution, which will be achieved by improving the energy efficiency of public infrastructures, increasing the use of renewable energy sources, reducing the consumption of non-renewable energy, and educating the local community on these matters. The project will carry out the following activities: i) retrofitting of a building Water Treatment Plant; ii) upgrading the boiler room in the building Water Treatment Plant; iii) and implementing the solar system and the photovoltaic installation. The main beneficiaries of the project will be residents of Sucha Beskidzka and neighboring municipalities, not only because of the improvement of air quality but also an expected increase in the number of tourists visiting Sucha Beskidzka.

Summary of project results

Project implementation helped to reduce CO2 emission (821.48 Mg/year) and to gain experience in conducting ecological investments. Thermomodernised were 5 public utility buildings, energy production from RES amount 14 thousand MWh/year. Photovoltaic (4) and 6 solar collectors have been installed. Venture improve energy efficiency in Sucha Beskidzka Municipality.
