Description

The project promotes activities that are consistent with the principles of respecting nature, but that also breaks stereotypes of protected areas as closed places. The overriding objective of the project is to increase the knowledge of students and the local community about biodiversity and the protection thereof, and about sustainable development and protected areas in Poland. The project will specifically focus on awakening a sense of responsibility to protect local wildlife. During the project, numerous activities will be carried out in the field of ecological education: a course for teachers, workshops for students and local projects implemented by the students addressed at the local community. The main beneficiaries of the project will be students and teachers of primary and secondary school and local communities living in the protected areas.

Summary of project results

Overall project goal indicators have been achieved. The number of people who took part in educational activities and promoting biodiversity conservation was 77,069. The number of non-governmental organizations implementing biodiversity activities has reached 3. The project used a total of 20 educational tools to increase public awareness of biodiversity and promote its use. Conferences / seminars / workshops were held (93). Information and promotion materials (total 3 000), educational articles ( 46) were prepared. Three educational books were prepared and published. Beneficiary also bought one laptop. During the implementation of the project, the Beneficiary has gained valuable experience and knowledge that it will be able to use while undertaking new initiatives in the field of biodiversity conservation
