Description

The protection of the population against floods is in conflict with the needs of Natura 2000 areas. This project aims to find solutions and to reconcile the protection of endangered species of flora and fauna with the safety of the society considering the flood. The project will unite zones of conflict, and combine specious protection with flood management, developing a solution model, creating a plan to protect zones in the Vistula valley, and providing ready scenarios for administration and flood risk management teams. The aims of the project will be achieved through the monitoring of birds and fish, measurement of hydraulic conditions, hydromorphological, chemical and biological quality of designated section of the Vistula River, and cooperation with representatives of local authority and population. The benefits of the project relate to the ecosystem of the Vistula River and local society.
