Description

Over the past decades, researchers have observed a serious decrease in the population of western honey bees and wild bees, which can become a serious threat to the biological diversity of Europe. Bees and other insects are important for agriculture, food production and biodiversity. The objective of this project is to increase the ecological potential of non-governmental organizations that promote biological diversity. The project is expected to increase the knowledge of the country dwellers about the importance of entomophily, to encourage local societies to preserve natural habitats of bees, and to work out the possible forms of protection of insects. Regional conferences will take place, new educational trails and special zones will be created, biodiversity educators will be trained and an information campaign will be conducted. The project will benefit people living in the countryside.
