Description
The Project's aim is to implement complex measures for work with the youth in the Talsi district, promoting their personal development, improving their understanding about career development and promoting their involvement in labor market, entrepreneurship and work of youth organizations. Within the project an innovative method will be developed and introduced for preventive work with teenagers implementing a preventing camp for the 6th grade pupils ( 32 pupils). The project provides activities to promote the youth's successful involvement into labor market as well as entrepreneurship and self-employment training "From idea to its implementation", establishment of and involvement in youth organizations, implementing training seminars and providing practical experience. In the framework of project a youth cooperation with the Lithuanian town Prieni will be promoted. The Project target group is teenagers living in Talsi district (11-13 years old) and youth who are subjected to risk of unemployment(16-29 years old).
Summary of project results
Target was to implement complex events in work with youngsters in Talsi County, promoting the development of their identity, understanding about career formation and promoting their involvement in the labor market, establishment of entrepreneurship and work of youth organizations. Target group: youngsters in Talsi County in age of puberty (11-13 years) and youngsters who are subjected to unemployment risk (16-29 years). Overall, project involved 121 children and youth at risk of social exclusion and poverty, as well as 11 unemployed youth. Results: • Establishment of 1 innovative method and its introduction in the preventive work with youngsters, implementing a preventing camp for the 6th grade pupils ( 30 pupils) • Promotion of successful youngsters’ involvement in the labor market/career creation (27 people) • Promotion of youth entrepreneurship, implementing training for the establishment of self-employment and entrepreneurship „From the idea to its implementation” (22 people) • Establishment of youth organization and activation of the existent ones, implementing training seminars and providing delivery of practical experience (50 people). • Commonwealth Youth Initiation / promotion with Talsi twinned Prien (Lithuania) youth organizations. • Promotion of youth voluntary work (146h)
