Description
The aim of the project is to increase activity of the Northern Latgale by strengthening capacity of the association, as well as creation of the NGO platform in the North-East part of Latgale. Project activities are aimed to provide knowledge and practical skills to the target group on presentation techniques, using video analysis, improving their persuasion and argumentation skills, improving their knowledge of legal and political issues. Activities provide for promotional activities of civic participation – forums, initiative group activities, promotion of NGO and volunteer work, creation of the NGO platform, uniting NGOs of Balvi, Viļaka, Rugāji and Baltinava districts. Target group is the NGO members, employees, volunteers, rural population, inhabitants of Balvi and Viļaka towns.
Summary of project results
The overall and specific targets of the Projects were met – co-operation between NGOs and municipalities in the North–Eastern part of Latgale and qualitative participatory democracy of NGOs were promoted. The Project results are as follows: • NGO "Ritineitis" capacity has been strengthened – 10 training courses organized, 200 members and volunteers trained; 13 projects were developed, 9 of them were financially supported and implemented; 21 new members and 23 volunteers involved; NGO "Ritineitis" website
www.ritineitis.lv was developed; • NGO participation plan for the period 2013-2015 was developed, the co-operation between NGO "Ritineitis" and Balvi municipality and it's institutions was strengthened (organized 10 consultations, participation at different working groups, cooperation on 2 projects; • NGO "Ritineitis" joined NGOs network uniting 10 NGOs from Balvi, Viļaka, Rugāji and Baltinava municipality areas was established, 40 members and volunteers of networking NGOs attended 2 specific training courses; • Events promoting the participation of inhabitants were implemented (organized 22 information days, 18 popularization seminars, 1 Balvi municipality citizens forum, action "I+You=We", 4 surrounding cleanups, NGO has taken part in two education fairs); • Non-formal education center "Azote" was established in Balvi.
