Description

The goal of the Project is to establish cooperation between Lithuanian and Norwegian institutions by improving and increasing the participation of adults in lifelong learning through development of competences of adult education staff in the new field of teaching methods to be assured by massive open online courses. For this purpose, it is intended to improve cooperation and exchange of knowledge in the field of adult education between staff and providers of education, to strengthen their capacities during the internship in Norway, also to cooperate through the development of action plan, to participate during the planning of development strategy for massive open online courses together with the partners of Lithuania and Norway and arrange, organize methodical recommendations for massive open online courses during the practical trainings. In Lithuania there is a well-developed IT infrastructure, but there is also a problem not only with the strategic documents, that define quality of implementing and providing massive open online courses, but also with undeveloped methodical recommendations that should be applied for usable educational implements and tools in Lithuania or for implementing methodical qualified open online course. In order to solve this problem of the project, it is intended to develop the following: Action plan for cooperation, the strategy and methodical recommendations for implementing and providing massive open online courses, also to organize trainings for adult education staff, to create a project site for exchanging good practice examples, for publicizing activities and results, for organizing virtual cooperation events of Norwegian - Lithuanian educators in the context of Norwegian experience adaptability and cooperation between Lithuanian and Norwegian institutions.

Summary of project results

The goal of the project was to establish cooperation between Lithuanian and Norway institutions by improving and increasing the participation of adults in lifelong learning through development of competences of adult education staff in the new field of teaching methods to be assured by massive open online courses. The adaptability of Norwegian experience in the context of cooperation between Lithuanian and Norwegian institutions was very important for this project, as the representatives of Flexible Education Norway had not just a lot of wide experience in adaptability of innovative e-learning methods, techniques or a lot of experience in implementing massive open online courses, but also they had strategically identified and defined indicators of quality how to implement, develop and provide massive open online learning courses. In Lithuania there was a well-developed IT infrastructure, but there was also a problem not only with the strategic documents, that define quality of implementing and providing massive open online courses, but also with undeveloped methodical recommendations that should be applied for usable educational implements and tools in Lithuania or for implementing methodical qualified open online course. In order to solve this problem, it was intended to develop: action plan for cooperation, the strategy (interactive e-book) and methodical recommendations for implementing and providing massive open online courses (massive open online course), also to organize trainings for adult education staff, to create a project site for exchanging good practice examples, for publicising activities and results, for organizing virtual cooperation events of Norwegian - Lithuanian educators in the context of Norwegian experience adaptability and cooperation between Lithuanian and Norwegian institutions. All activities planned in the project contract have been completed successfully. The project's objective was achieved in full extent.

Summary of bilateral results

The adaptability of Norwegian experience in the context of cooperation between Lithuanian and Norwegian institutions was very important for this project, as the representatives of Norwegian institution "Flexible Education Norway“ had not just a lot of wide experience in adaptability of innovative e-learning methods, techniques or a lot of experience in implementing massive open online courses, but also they had strategically identified and defined indicators of quality how to implement, develop and provide massive open online learning courses.
