As a result, a database is being built up that can be sustained by community resources and highlights the volume and nature of violence against sex workers. The data will be presented to the public and stakeholders, e.g. law enforcement by a campaign. Sex worker activists will be involved in data collection, peer outreach to their fellow sex workers. Pilot cooperation will also be built with the police.

Summary of project results

The aim of the project was to emphasize advocacy for the human rights of sex workers in Hungary. During the project sex workers shared their experience of abuse and discrimination with one another and undertook to spread these information to a wider public. The other limb of the project was to strengthen cooperation with the police and provide legal aid to sexworkers in need. In the long term these activities all point to the direction of achieving UN Women and CEDAW recommended standards in the protection of rights of vulnerable people, especially sexworkers.
