Description
In terms of the success of reintegration, it is important that after having been released from the prison, the convict is awaited by a family that might be able to keep the former inmate back from committing another crime. The objective is reducing re-offending, increasing the chances of integration. Through the project, we want to reduce negative effects on children of offenders in prison, and thereby the communication between the offender and his/her family improves. The outputs are fairy tale circle once a week, preparing for three performances and making a DVD for the families, family decision-making groups, professional conference introducing best practices. The target groups are inmates with children and family members.
Summary of project results
The support of the social reintegration of inmates is a very important thing. The projekt promoters wanted to reduce the negative effects and consequenses on the children of the inmates and they wanted to improve the communication and the relationship between the prisoners involved in the project and their families as well. They had an idea that the fairy tale circle and the family group decision-making are good ways to reach their goals. Thanks to the project, the family relationships improved and the prison tolerance of the inmates became better. The behavior of the inmates towards the members of the prison staff became cooperative and they could keep the rules of the prison. The new methods used between prison conditions created new opportunities to achieve the purpose of punishment and the project promoters could help the conditions for succesful reintegration. During the project they could improve the cooperation between the prison and the organizations involved the tasks.
Summary of bilateral results
