Description

The number of homeless people in Hungary is very high. Unfortunately, politics don’t support the solution of the problem with appropriate tools. Society is characterized by estrangement, most of the people are not sensitive to their fellows’ problems. Our long term goal is strengthen social acceptance, reduce the negative attitude against homeless people, make society more sensitive to problems. Our specific goal is to raise awareness to the criminalization of homeless people with peaceful actions. We are going to start a campaign through the online media. We will show homeless and ordinary people and set parallels of the stereotypes which are typical for a different social groups. Most important is to change attitudes; we want to show a way to pay attention to each other, to behave more emphatically in order to make this world more liveable together. We manage to reach the mainstream society through the media so the negative attitude decreased, people donate more and the social responsibility increased. We reach thousands of people through the internet campaigns. This will benefit the mainstream society, young adults and decision makers.

Summary of project results

In Hungary the number of the homeless people are continously indreasing, despite this the government do not support sufficiently enough to solve this problem. For homeless peopl criminalisation can be a typical reaction, unfortunately. Most of hungarian people are not sensitive to help and understand homeless and poor people's difficult situations. Hiding of these problems seems to be a general behavior as a reacrion. Therefore the main aim of the application was to strengthen social acceptation and reduce the negative attitude against homeless people, make society more sensitive to their problems. The specific goal of the project was to raise awareness to importance of social sensibility with peaceful actions and an online campaign. The most important target group was younger people. The applicantacieved thousands of people during the online campaign and increased the number of the members, supporters and the sympathizers of the organisation.
