Description

This project is the starting point of a long term answer to the apathy and stereotyping behavior of the society. Our goal is to integrate human rights as a core value and human rights education as a good practice to general education. We plan a complex project in Pécs, which creates usable product and good practices which can be adapted. Beside that we try to join the forces of the groups and NGO's in Pécs. The target group of the long term effects are students (we will try out the pilot programs with them), but the direct target are the teachers, who will use these products and we also train them to be able to use it. The effects of the project will create a solid base for future projects.

Summary of project results

For 13 months, With the power of humanity Foundation implemented human rights educational programs in 7 schools in Pécs, in the project ‘Integration of human rights education to schools’. The abstracts of the learning processes fit to the official curricula, this ensures the possibility of multiplication in the whole country. The programs were based on non-formal learning, the interaction of participants and learning by doing. The lesson plans've been collected in a handbook called ‘egyMÁStan’, which is available freely online. Beside the main activities, HRE seminars and workshops reached 60 teachers. Two trainings were accredited in the Ministry of Education, for teachers, to help them in the implementation of human rights education processes. Humanity Playground were created, which is an online collection of human rights games, can be used as educational tools. In the process, 100 lessons were implemented with the participattion of more than 200 students.
