Summary of project results
Imprisonment is a problem not only for the individual but also for the family, the broader community and society. Therefore the objective of the project was to assist in keeping and increasing family relations between imprisoned mothers and their family members. As a result, the project reduced the anxiety of the family members and children, at the same time helped establish an objective picture of the family member from the detention conditions. One part of the professional activities focused on women who are living in prisons through tale therapy, the other part was directed at the family members and their environment through family mentoring. This way, the women could take part in weekly development sessions, and their families received support and assistance in their home. Additionally, families could take part in trainings and family clubs where they realized that their problem is not unique, and got hope about their own lives. As a result of the program, the possibility of restoring family relations after release appear, as well as our most important objectives, the reducing of recidivism and development of a a complex methodology.
