Summary of project results

The basic problem of the project was the permanent poverty and unemployment in Roma communities. News by and not about Roma people was underrepresented in media. According to the project promoter to change this situation the supporting of communities to find local solutions for sustainable living and in communication and organisation development is essential. To ensure the change the project aimed to strengthen the role of 20 Roma advocacy groups in Nógrád, Baranya and Tolna counties via trainings and network building activities. In the trainings the Roma participants learned using effective tools in community development, to have new project ideas and practical ideas in organizational sustainability. After the participants got the theoretical knowledge, they adapted these in their communities to organize local actions. Furthermore an adaptable training material and training system were developed. These are usable after the project too.
