Description

Sumitomo Bakelite is a pioneer in plastics that are used in a wide range of applications. The activity of the plant SBEB focuses on the high performance plastics. SBEB phenolic resins manufactured for industrial applications. For manufacturing phenolic resins, phenol is used as the main substance. Phenolics production generates wastewater, which contains phenol. Every year approximately 8500 m3 of waste water is generated, which contains between 2 and 4% phenol. Summary of project results

The project was necessary to establish a new system of clearance of phenolic wastewater. It was important for the improvement of the system can secure the viability of the plant. The results have been very positive. Our purpose is to make the project viable industrial scale.
