ORONA's activities are focused on design, manufacture, installation, maintenance, and modernization of mobility solutions such as lifts, escalators, and moving ramps and walkways. This project arises to offer an advanced solution for energy saving range of ORONA lifts, minimizing energy consumption from the grid and decreasing the energy cost for the end user. The overall objective of this project is to develop a lift solution A+ (10% lower consumption than class A) minimizing energy consumption of the lift´s mechanical elements and using the energy generated and stored by the lift. The development of this project will allow ORONA to offer to the market a new lift solution. The Energy Efficient lift, A+ rating, will be offered to the residential and public buildings. The market objective at national and international level, are the new facilities and renovations.
Summary of project results
The project has been developed in a successful way on the different tasks addressed: a chasis with an improved energy-behavior, an efficient and reliable door lock system, a new guide concept capable of reducing the friction and an energy storage system (ESS) that allows the recovery of the braking energy and subsequent use in traction trips. The final energy performance of the lift has been evaluated by an internal tool and the new lift has obtained a better results than A rating. This tool has been developed by ORONA to verify the power consumption of the lift. The Energy Efficient lift, A+ rating, will be offered to the residential and public buildings. The market objective at national and international level, are the new facilities and renovations.
