In order to protect the rights and interests of NGO-s it is necessary to document and preserve the information important to the organizations. Unfortunately, small NGO-s often lack the means for hiring specialists for archiving their documents or to get the corresponding training. The general objective of the project is to favour the development NGO-s of Ida-Virumaa region by rendering assistance in archiving. The main activities of the project are seminars on archiving, edition of information booklet, consultations and archiving documents of some of the NGO-s in the region (free of charge). As a result the strengthening of NGO-s of Ida-Virumaa region is expected .
Summary of project results
The objective of the project was to favor the development of civil society initiatives of Ida-Virumaa region by rendering assistance in sphere of archival work. Main target group was Russian speaking NGO-s of Ida-Virumaa region. Due to the main activities of the project such as information classes about archival work in Russian, the edition of information booklet (number of printed copies – 200, circulation area – Ida-Virumaa region, target group – Russian speaking NGO-s of Ida-Virumaa), consultations and processing of documents of the NGO-s of Narva this result was reached. The beneficiaries were involved at all stages of the project as its direct participants. The participants of the project's activities got new knowledges and skills that can be used in the future to develop their organizations and at the same time Estonian society.
