Description
The project is focused on support for the harmonisation of professional and family life of employees of the Partnership Foundation and other NGOs cooperating in the Open Gardens administration centre. There is a high number of Open Gardens centre employees/parents with small children. Along with our feeling that our work in a non-profit organisation is not only a job but also a life mission, we are keen on keeping in touch with the profession also during parental leave. Along with urgent economic reasons, it is highly important for us to have the opportunity to come back to professional life at least for a part-time job and we do usually come back sooner than other people because we simply like what we do. Implemented Tools: - arranging a working children’s group - support of individual child-minding in cases of illness or unforeseeable job obligations - creating floating jobs for employees/parents without fulltime jobs. This enables a better harmonisation of work and family life for the 15 employees of our organisation who are parents of small children.
Summary of project results
We focused on helping parents of preschool children working in the Partnership Foundation and non-profit organisations cooperating on the premises of the NNO Centre and Open Garden in Brno. Thanks to this project, we have succeeded in implementing a set of measures to facilitate the return of parents to working life. We have ensured operation in the area of the Open Garden, individual babysitting/child care (in cases where they are too young to attend the children’s group, they are outside the working hours of the group, or when children are ill) and the possibility to use the shared office place on a one-time or regular basis. We have boosted equal opportunities for a total of 28 workers of non-governmental and non-profit organisations and created a good example of a sustainable approach to reconciling work and family life.
